OUR GOALS
January 30, 2006The goal of our crew is to reach the hearts of young people and bring to them a good desire of living, happiness and joy. To help them take a break from the business of the world: computers, stress, television, foolishness, games, etc., and we hope to help them feel God’s presence through the peacefulness of nature. Also we hope to change their desires and help them find happiness through serving others and develop a joy and God’s presence through relationships with others and sharing their testimonies. We know that we have the opportunity to do this while we are young in the future all our goals and desires will change.
OUR BEGINNINGS
January 28, 2006Our Company BigBen Adventures has been started by Ben Gorskikh, in 2005, who is 16 years old and loves to hike with his father and likes to make pictures of beautiful places.
Ben grew up in a big family of six brothers and six sisters. His father is a very hard worker who came from Estonia. His mother is Hungarian. After school Ben had to come to the side jobs where he helped his father work in construction. Ben really loves hiking and would always make a deal with his father, if he did his job early he would ask if they could go hike and make pictures. Ben knows that his father will make him work for everything he wants and his father always kept their deals even if their family was short of money or was in great need.
Ben’s sister, Sarah who is 14 years old is really proud of her brother. So Ben and his sister asked their father to support them with their idea. Their father wanted Ben to become a carpenter but because they both wanted something else he agreed to give them a chance. It was a big decision since it involves a lot of money and time which his father doesn’t have. But Ben promised to work long hours in the construction with his father, and pay back every penny. So his whole family agreed to establish a hiking advertising company and to work many hours as volunteers to make it happen.
Then he and his father and his friends made pictures. As soon as professional photographers saw Ben’s pictures they offered Ben jobs to model which Ben didn’t take, and decided he wanted to develop his own portfolio and advertising. He decided to write his own letters to companies and offer his service to advertise their brand in his website and in his hiking magazine called World is My Country which he hopes to develop.
His father supports him as much as he can in everything he is doing and put together a crew that supports him. He found for him a professional photographer, Serafim, his friend. Also, his sister Sarah who answers his phones, his sister Amy who is 19 she corrects his letters and checks his emails, his sister Vera who is 18 she is going to do the orientations and safety, and himself to help keep everything together. His father called to his brother who found a professional programmer to be hired to build his website his name is Chris.
